Death Panels Religion Style

The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama's 'death panel' so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their 'level of productivity in society,' whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil-Sarah Palin

In an article in the Chicago Tribune, it was reported that an abortion was performed on a mother whose life was in danger.  This happened in a Catholic hospital in Phoenix, and the assessment was made on an emergency basis by the doctors on hand.  The fetus was not viable and would not have survived without the mother.

As a result, the bishop of the diocese stripped the Saint Josephs Hospital of its Catholic affiliation and condemned the abortion as murder.

I was raised Roman Catholic and became disillusioned with the Church.  As an agnostic, I feel that religion is a poor representation of any deity that may or may not exist.  As a result, I see them (Christianity, at least, which I most familiar with) as nothing more than fund raising organizations.
